                                          Parish Council

The Parish Council is made up of nine Councillors and a Clerk (email address).
There is currently a need for 1 new councillor and if you are interested you would be most welcome to attend a meeting in order to gain an understanding of what is involved. Alternatively contact the Clerk or Chairman for more information.

The Council is responsible for the Recreation Ground, Horse River Green, Coronation Green, Hall Garden, Jubilee Garden (at Fag End) and the open spaces at Rookery Close and Pilgrim Close.

The Council is also responsible for a number of street lights in the village and will report faults and other highways problems i.e. potholes, to the relevant authority for action.

Each year the Parish Council sets a budget, which is funded by the residents by way of the precept payment to Uttlesford District Council. For the coming year 2010/11 the budget has been set at £41,500.

Further information can be found on the village notice board in School Street (opposite the shop) and letters to the Council may be posted in the blue box attached to this notice board.
